The Kuba people have been producing textiles in Congo for 4 centuries, inspired by geometric and abstract shapes that are still strikingly modern.
Kuba cloth is woven from the fibres of the Raphia Palm and the production of these textiles is a multiple stage process which involves the participation of a whole group of skilled artisans. Each cloth tells the story of the people who made it woven from memory.
